The Labor Education Program (LEP) is a regionally recognized provider of educational services and training programs for labor organizations and workers. Programs are conducted for local unions, central labor councils, and international unions at the regional or district level. Classes are held at locations convenient to the union.
Interactive, participatory classes are provided in steward training, collective bargaining, arbitration, labor and employment law, effective leadership, and popular economics. In addition, LEP develops specific programs in response to needs expressed by client unions.
LEP also offers courses to those who work in the field of labor relations. Courses include interest based bargaining and labor and employment law, such as the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
